About Luna Interiors
With an emphasis on unique bespoke interior design services for projects both large and small I focus on tailoring schemes to individual client tastes, practicalities and needs. By asking such questions as; What makes you unique? What do you like? What surroundings will take you to your happiest place? My philosophy is to listen, solve and design.

My name is Mairi and I have been working in the world of Interior Design for over twenty years. I graduated from Glasgow University in 1997 with a Master of Arts Degree & Postgraduate Diploma in Decorative Arts. Followed by a practical course in Drawing for Designers at Chelsea College of Art & Design in London.
After study I travelled and ended up living in spectacular Barcelona Spain for a couple of years. I loved the culture, people and life style but eventually I felt I had to get my career underway and moved back to London. I initially spent a couple of valuable years working for the prestigious Bonhams Auction House in Knightsbridge. It was however my love of fabric and design that led me to seek out an apprenticeship to work alongside some of the best in the decorative arts world at Schemes Interior Design in Notting Hill London. Here I learned first-hand all the detailed ins and outs of producing some exceedingly fine work for some of the most exclusive homes in London and beyond.
I worked and lived in London for many years when one Christmas I decided to visit my sister Beanie who lived in Auckland. She took great delight in showcasing the best of New Zealand, so much so, that when I returned to London the trip had somewhat rubbed off the gloss and shine of the big city and all I could now see was the endless long working hours and miserable weather. So I made a plan to relocate to be with my sibling in the Southern hemisphere. I moved to New Zealand in 2004 where within 24 hours of stepping off the plane I got a job working for a well-known Interior Design Company in Ponsonby.
Having now worked in the Design Industry here for some time I felt more than ready to take my many varied years of experience, gathered both in Europe and New Zealand, and to create my very own Luna Interiors.

Listen, Solve & Design
What do you like?
What surroundings will take you to your happiest place?
I have worked with a few different Interior Design Companies since graduating and they all have their own diverse philosophies, emphasis and interpretation on the service they bring.
The main one for me has always been customer care with a focus on listening to my clients, solving and designing something unique for them.
It may be a one off featured upholstery piece, a window dressing or an entire home of soft furnishings that reflects your everyday needs. Here is how we go about it...
Initial Consultation
This is an introduction to the project you wish to embark on. We will meet on site and we will look together at what is involved in taking the first few steps. We will conduct an initial measure if required.
Moving Forward
This is when we put some of the conversation into action providing you with ideas for colour, style and interpretation while allowing for your individual budget.
Quote
With ideas formulated we can now provide you with a proposal of cost.
Confirmation
On finalising and accepting the quote we can then proceed with organising and creating your unique scheme and providing you with an expected time of completion. A second home visit will then be required to check measure and resolve any fine details.
Installation
On completion the job will be carefully delivered and installed for you to enjoy.
